This historic property’s planned construction had to get approval by the Historic & Architectural Review Board prior to submitting for building permits. Keeping the new design consistent with the existing architecture allowed for seamless approvals throughout the planning process. The project consisted of an approx. 1,000 SF, 3-story addition and major renovation including new kitchen, primary suite, powder room, new side entry, rear deck and stunning outdoor space with natural gas firepit.
Planning, design and construction lasted 10-months. Poplar commissioned DCL Architects for the architectural design and Poplar handled the township approvals, construction management, finish selections and interior design. The project was featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer in October 2017. It was noteworthy not only for its beautiful finishes but also, it’s remarkable transformation.
